The Quicksteps

With their melodic uptempo Pop-Ska, a mixture of 2-tone, reggae, swing, and jazz, the 10 members strong Quicksteps rank among the most promising bands the german ska-scene has to offer.

Beginning in 1999 the boys around sax-player Bernd Simons have been heating up clubs and growing crowds in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, and the Czech Republic with an explosive brasssection and crackling offbeats.

On their tours they`ve played the Klub007 in Prague, Beatclub Dessau, the Wahrschauer Ska-Party in Berlin, the Mainzer Reduit among others. On larger festivals like the legendary Musikmarathon in Eupen/B or the Skankin@Skarneval in Vaals/NL they were a guarantee for pure party and danced through nights. The Quicksteps took special pleasure in playing with the Hotknives at the Beatclub in Dessau. Furthermore they supported Laurel Aitken, Stingers ATX, Mark Foggo, Babylon Circus, The Braces, The Dill Brothers among others.

In 2004 their second longplayer "Trapped" has been released on Nasty Vinyl/SPV. An extensive tour through Germany, Benelux and Switzerland followed. The Quicksteps have also drawn attention in Japan. In june 2004 they contributed 2 songs to a sampler by the japanese recording company AVEX Inc..
