HEZIDEK Inspiration from the most high Jah Rastafari, strong encouraging words and a higher level of meditation is what Chezidek delivers through his spiritual and musical chants. Lashing out against the injustice and oppression amongst humanity nuclear war and the destruction of the environment has earned him a place in the hearts of reggae fans worldwide, with his burning hit song “Leave De Trees” followed by “Harvest Time and “Breakfree”. Known as the herbalist and the environmentalist, chezidek is on the “herb campaign” destined to fulfill the works of HIS majesty with words of uprightness.

Chezidek newest album released by Greensleeves , “Inna Di Road” is a delight for reggae music lovers. Riding a variety re-vamped rhythms, Chezidek shows why he could well be considered one of the most captivating reggae artistes worldwide. The title track,” Inna Di Road” produced by Bobby Konders from the Massive B label, is social commentary at its finest, warning of the dangers of just stepping out of the safety of your home on any given day , as we say, go ‘inna the road, on the defiant Mi Nah Run, Chezidek shows his versatility on a bouncy dancehall-influenced rhythm.

Most reggae lovers will remember the environmental ode, Leave The Trees, a true gem of a song, and he is cerebral and almost philosophical on songs such as For the Rights, How Yu So Wicked,Vampire and Dem a Fight which addresses the ‘carnal minds’ of the people in the society who attempt to destroy others because “through we and dem nah link and through me and dem nah drink’. He documents the struggles of the average single mother in a tight economy on She Struggles, and takes a stab at the bitters and joys of love on I Won’t Cry, easily one of the best songs on the CD, with Chezidek’s plaintive, warbling falsetto providing the emotional centre of the track. The CD also contains enhanced videos for Call Pon Dem, arguably the best song on the CD, and Inna Di Road.

With his breezy vocals and original lyrics, it is an album that validates the belief that one drop reggae is as perennial as the grass, and why Chezidek will continue to be at the forefront of the reggae music movement for a long time. Since his break on the music scene chezidek has released 5 albums entitled Harvest Time, Rising Sun both on VP record label, Mash Dem Down on Al.Ta.Fa.An record label and Firm up Yourself on Cousins Production label. Chezidek has toured Europe, USA and the Caribbean has received raving reviews for his performance. Chezidek says love to creation Plants and Animals, love to humanity, love the Almighty JAH RASTAFARI. MySpace Layouts
